Welcome, fellow grower. At Raintree Nursery, we cultivate not only rare and hardy plants but also lasting relationships rooted in trust and satisfaction. We take immense care in selecting, packing, and shipping each item from our catalog—from Apple Rootstock and Bare Root Strawberries to 4″ Pots of treasured perennials. However, we understand that sometimes a plant may not thrive as expected, or an order may not arrive perfectly. This policy outlines our commitment to making things right, with the same dedication we bring to our garden.
Our Guiding Principle
We stand behind our plants. Our goal is to ensure you receive healthy, viable stock and have a successful growing experience. If you are unsatisfied, we will work with you to find a solution—be it a return, exchange, or store credit.
1. Return & Exchange Eligibility
- Timeframe: We accept returns and exchanges within 15 days of your receipt of the shipment.
- Condition: Plants must be in their original, resalable condition, with roots kept moist and protected. Please contact us immediately upon receipt if there is an issue.
- Proof of Purchase: Your order number or receipt is required.
2. Step-by-Step Process
- Contact Us First: Do not ship anything back without contacting our team. Email us at admin@raintreenurserys.com within the 15-day window. Describe the issue and include your order number and photos if possible.
- Receive Instructions: We will respond within 2 business days with a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number and specific shipping instructions tailored to plant care.
- Pack & Ship: Securely repackage the plant(s) using the original packaging if possible. Include the RMA number clearly on the outside of the box. Ship to the address we provide.
- Inspection & Resolution: Once received, our nursery team will inspect the item. We will then notify you and process your exchange, refund, or store credit.
3. Non-Returnable Items
Due to their perishable nature and specific cultivation requirements, the following product categories are generally not eligible for return or exchange unless they arrive dead or damaged (in which case, contact us within 48 hours of delivery):
- Bare Root Plants: This includes Bare Root Strawberry Plants, fruit tree rootstock (e.g., Apple Rootstock, Cherry Rootstock), and Chestnut Seedlings. Their viability is highly time-sensitive.
- Live Plant Material in Specific Media: Plants sold in 4″ Pots or other live growing formats are difficult to assess once removed from our controlled environment.
- Custom or Special Orders: This includes specific Apple or Cherry varieties grafted to order.
Analysis Note: Based on the website’s menu featuring perishable, live horticultural products like bare root stock and potted plants, these items are exempt from standard returns due to their biological nature. Our policy prioritizes immediate communication for damaged goods to ensure we can address issues while the plant is still viable.
4. Refund Timeline & Method
- Processing Time: After we receive and inspect the return, please allow 5-10 business days for your refund to be processed.
- Method: Refunds will be issued to the original payment method used at purchase (Visa, MasterCard, JCB, or PayPal). The timing of the refund appearing in your account depends on your financial institution’s policies.
- Exchanges & Store Credit: If you choose an exchange or store credit, we will process it immediately upon approval and notify you. Store credit never expires and can be used on any future order of Berries, Andean Tubers, Asian Pears, or other catalog treasures.
5. Return Shipping Costs
For returns due to our error (incorrect or damaged item), we will provide a prepaid return shipping label. For returns due to customer preference, return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer. We recommend using a trackable service (like DHL or FedEx, our standard carriers) for your protection.
